I renovated my two bathrooms and laundry cupboard with Origin Bathrooms & Kitchens at the end of 2023. Having never renovated before my concerns were (1) cost, and ensuring the quote was in the appropriate range ( 2) quality/workmanship (3) ensuring the job was completed during a specified period when our family arranged to move out. Origin delivered on all three.

I obtained 3 quotes from local companies with fairly strong google ratings. George’s quote was within the range quoted and in fact included more items. Unlike the other companies, every single job/item was noted in the quote and so there was great transparency. George also impressed me with his knowledge when he did the initial walk through to provide the quote. I subjected him to VERY long emails with numerous questions about the job and he very patiently responded to these before I decided to go with Origin.

The renovation was a very smooth process. They used an App which uploads the contract and agreed plans, the date schedule for the work, the invoices, and even progress photos. So it’s possible to easily access the documents and see where they’re up to when you’re not living on-site.

The best part of the whole process, and what made it so smooth and ensured that the job was well done, was the project manager Jamie. He is a perfectionist and takes the time to ensure on-the-job decisions will bring the best outcome. His recommendations were always right, and he suggested improvements along the way which definitely improved our end result. Nothing was too much trouble. Jamie has a very calm and reassuring manner, and always listened to what we wanted. When tradies were sick at the start of the job he arranged additional workers to be on-site later in the week to ensure the projected time schedule was adhered to. Jamie is absolutely across the work that is required for a professionally renovated bathroom, and certainly delivered this for us. He was an absolute pleasure to work with, and his ability and attitude made the renovation an easy experience. We were not expecting that at all! We would have no hesitation recommending Origin to our friends and family.

How to plan your bathroom renovation project?

STEP 1 – Get in touch with our bathroom design and renovation experts.

STEP 2 – Free in-home or in-showroom consultation and customised bathroom upgrade plan.

STEP 4 – Remove-and-rebuild process (2 to 3 weeks).

What is our typical lead time before the project starts?

Custom bathroom renovations with Origin Bathrooms & Kitchens normally start 2 to 6 weeks from the moment. During this period of time, we will bring everything together from finalising the design to finding the necessary materials for the building phase.

What do we need from you during the build phase?

Not much, really. As you have already agreed on the design, layout and a detailed scope of works during the design phase, it is time to let the experts get to work. During the construction phase, you will be appointed a project manager who will be your SPOC (single point of contact). The project manager will be in close contact with you, provide updates on the project’s status, and any other developments.

How long does a bathroom renovation take to complete?

On average, it takes 3 weeks for a bathroom renovation project to be fully complete.

How long will you be without a usable toilet and basin?

We recommend finding a temporary alternative during this time, as toilets and basins are normally unavailable for 2 weeks.

Will I have to move out during the build phase?

The installation process should not pose any problems on the rest of your home. However, it depends on your accessibility to an alternate facility – if you have another bathroom in your home or have great neighbours, who are ready to help out, then there is no need for you to move out.

A recent project in Coogee

Our Coogee project features a bathroom and a kitchen.

For both the bathroom and the kitchen, our customer wanted a bright and fun look whilst keeping the space classic . He opted for green as a statement colour and kept the rest of the space a crisp white. To achieve this look in the bathroom, we custom made the bathroom vanity in this bright shade of green, complemented by the bold touches of brass on the tapware, accessories and even door handles.

To keep the rest of the space clean and neutral, we used light grey and white cement look floor tile and white subway tiles for the walls. In the kitchen, same principle applied. The joinery was keep simple white, but we injected personality into the space with the classic shaker style door, the bright green subway and the bold brass tap and door handles.
